Alfa Romeo Tonale 

After a long wait, the Tonale finally debuted for the 2024 model year as Alfa Romeo’s dedicated plug-in hybrid. 

The propulsion system consists of a 1.3-liter MultiAir Turbo inline-four engine, which routes power to the front wheels, while an electric motor powers the rear wheels to complete the Q4 all-wheel drive system. In total, this setup generates 285 horsepower.

Since it’s a PHEV, the Tonale can run solely on its electric motor—it boasts up to 33 miles of all-electric range. 

The infotainment setup consists of a crisp 10.2-inch center touchscreen display, which runs Uconnect 5 software for the latest and greatest processing speeds. Other features include Amazon Alexa Voice Service, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, and a full complement of Alfa Connect Services. 

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

At the heart of the 2024 Stelvio, we find a turbocharged four-cylinder that puts out an impressive 280 horsepower—in their review, Car and Driver noted that it “feels more like a beefy V-6.” The engine is paired with either Q2 rear-wheel drive with a limited-slip diff or Q4 all-wheel drive with a traction management system. 

As with many other models, the Stelvio was designed with a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution to ensure balanced handling in all driving conditions. 

The 8.8-inch touchscreen display comes standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone integration. It also has an extensive collection of available driver assistance features, including Intelligent Speed Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Jam Highway Assist, and more. 

Alfa Romeo Giulia 

Like the Stelvio, the Giulia (pronounced joo-lee-ah) sports a 2.0-liter Turbo inline-four, and it also puts out 280 ponies. However, the Giulia carries around significantly reduced weight thanks to its sedan body style, allowing for a uniquely agile ride. 

The Giulia also shares the Stelvio’s almost perfectly equal weight ratio, along with other features like the DNA Drive Mode Selector, dynamic Alfa Link Suspension system, and a selection between Q2 rear-wheel drive and Q4 all-wheel drive. 

Alfa’s 8.8-inch touch screen is present in the Giulia as well, complete with wireless device connectivity and Alfa Connected Services with a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Giulia also features a new 12.3-inch digital driver info display, which has three different configurations to choose from. 

Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and Giulia Quadrifoglio 

As an honorable mention, we can’t forget the high-performance versions of Alfa Romeo’s two iconic vehicles. 

Both models get a twin-turbo V-6 engine, which cranks out a class-leading 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. This engine, which is derived from Ferrari specs, allows the Stelvio Quadrifoglio and Giulia Quadrifoglio to do zero-to-sixty in 3.6 seconds and 3.8 seconds, respectively. 

Quadrifoglio models also benefit from several other performance-enhancing features, including a standard Q4 all-wheel drive, DNA Pro Drive Mode selector with Race Mode, an upgraded limited slip diff, signature 20-inch aluminum wheels, and anodized brake calipers.
